Built in 1926, the building was originally home to The Mark Store. In the 1960s, it's 1920s architecture was converted to a mid-century moderne style and reopened as a Richards department store. It the 1980s, it received a facelift and became Metromall. Like an indoor mall it was set up with many retail spaces most of them jewelry stores. As of 2011, the retail floors are closed.

this location was also used as the actual film set at least for the first season of the series (pilot). not only for the long distance shots. it's easy to find and good to take pictures because there is a park that is acessible for the pubilc right on the other side of the small canal. i saw also a manatee in front of the building! the bridge is also a good place for taking pctures. and don't miss to visit the other film set (house where his mother lives (madeleine)), its only 200m amway from the park!
